?'s from a non Cichla owner

water paramters should be the same as all fish i.e 0 nitrates 0 ammonia etc.. the main things to know are cichla prefer a low - neutral ph and keeping the temp between 87-90 degrees farenheit (make sure the tank has increased oxygen when running tanks at this temp) will insure your future cichla will thrive!

Should the temp stay that high for life? or can it cool down some when they mature?
 
peacock bass do best all of their lives with the water temp above 82 degrees.. i try to keep my between 84 - 86 degrees F.
 
Hey guys thanks for all the pointers! I want Cichla's so bad but i can't have em....I will one day tho and ill be able to post my dream tank on here once i have it! LOL till then i get to be insanely jealous of yall!
 
you needs lots of filtration they are kind of messy
