I've had the tank for little under a month, not sure the exact date but not long enough to justify what happened. When I emptied the tank, there was a crack thru the bottom from one side to the other. A friend of mine says that I could have potentially had too much substrate + other stuff and it was too heavy.

Wow! That's crazy.

My guess was it was not level, you'd have to have a lot of stuff and some really pointy stuff for that to happen. I had 85+lbs of live rock in my 120g plus another 60lbs of sand. So I doubt it was that. My first salt tank was 32g and it had again at least 50lbs of live rock. If your stand isnt level that will cause it. Bottoms cracking is usually unlevel tank. Or a manufacturers defect or like said a tank that isnt meant to be filled with water. That really does suck. I had it happen to a 60 cube nothing like coming home from a wedding over a weekend to +/-50g of water on the floor well..... most had dried. Fish were still alive in the 2" of water left not sure how but they were, probably the air stone that was still moving the little bit of water through the gravel.

Believe ur right on the leveling part.

I definitely think unlevel is the answer. I noticed, ever so slightly, one side would meet the seal sooner then the other side.. I never thought anything of it T.T

You can even tell in this photo how uneven it was. I had no idea it was such a serious thing. Lesson learned & no fish lost (Cept for the ones I bred for food).
