i wouldnt overdose your aro with meds if i were you. just be patient. it also could be that the ich spot is just a scratch from hitting the lid. just do a large water change and DO NOT raise the temp until ammonia levels hit 0

i second hot slime, your tank is not properly cycled and your ammonia levels are very high, did you do your large water change? if not you need to do so. i wouldn't jump the gun on treatments right away as that's how i got my last aro killed. make sure you also use supplemental aeration (oxygenate your water) i hear most medications will deplete the water's oxygen. good luck with your jar
In my experience salt works great but I use it in combination with heat. I use a concentration of 2 tbs per 10 gallons and raise the temp to about 84. From my understanding freshwater ich have poor tolerance to salty water so putting the salt in your tank effectively gets rid of free floating ich. By raising the temp you increase the organism's metabolism that way they tend to fall off the fish and into the salty water sooner. That's from what I've read but I've successfully fixed ich this way many times. Just be sure to throw in some oxygen when you do this and make sure you stay on top of wc's good luck.

+1 I have also used salt for Ich, and it works great, the fish were totaly clear by the high temp and salt treatment!!!!
Well 2 Jardini's ago that guy was almost 2.5 feet long. He was spoiled and would eat mostly comets and sometimes pellets. Mostly he broke up pellets and made lots of rubbish. They can eat things (not sure about inanimate stuff) that's almost the same size as it's mouth. I went fishing once and caught a lizard fish and threw it in the tank. No hesitation, he swallowed it whole head first of course. Those suction cups are pretty small. Do you notice a bulge when you look at him?
