First off, the car you posted isn't in the same class as a 350Z or S2000, we know you're a Volvo fanboy, but why not post something relatively close to what is being discussed if you're gonna derail? Like the C70?

Secondly, what is your logic behind saying that Asian cars are simply "cheap imported metal"? You say that on just about every thread that comes up about cars. Just curious as to what makes you say that.

Thirdly, in reference to the thread topic at hand, even though i love everything Honda, i'd take a 350Z over an S2000 to be honest.

i really hope rmorse doesnt see this. haha he had a big argument about this in my "first car thread" hahah. here we go again.

ehhh both have good and bad... but both can be pretty fun cars... out of the two I am not really sure which one I would pick. However if its the specific cars pictured above... I would probably take the S2 but that is based upon first glance and the fact that the Z has a nasty color Interior imo, however it would also depend on how they felt when I am driving them, if the S2k felt like crap...I obviously wouldnt want it either.

Trust me, whatever the opposite of crap feels like thats what driving an s2k feels like. The handling is simply amazing. Plus I agree s2000s look way cooler than 350z. Just my opinion.

As for imports=cheap metal crap... ehhh if its cheap metal crap.... cheap metal holds up pretty well in a bad accident then. I wouldn't exactly call them cheap metal crap, some of these cheap metal crap are really reliable. Its a matter of opinion. I love my Integra to death and wouldn't trade if for the world but I would also pick up an Audi given the chance. Trust me...you want to talk about car's falling apart American and European car's are no better (Yes I have experience with All 3 Jap and korean imports, Audi and American).

+1 to that. Last time I checked Hondas are regarded as the most reliable and longest lasting type of car you can buy. In close competition with Toyota though.

1: The C70 is junk....You say "not in the same class". I am assuming you are talking about the fact that it isn't a coupe? Or the fact that it is a wagon? Let's look at stats, shall we?

2010 s2000 0-60: 6.1
2009 350z 0-60: 5.6 manual, 6.0 auto
2001 V70R 0-60: 5.5

Let me know if you need help with the math.

2: You don't know much about Japan, do you? Here is a hint....it's an island. WITH NO NATURAL RESOURCES TO MAKE STEEL WITH. Why do you think their cars are so cheap? Lowest bidder.....

To each thier own I guess. I just think the 350z is too "boxy" and that the look will become dated. s2000 have sexier curves and a more timeless appeal to them. Again just my opinion.

Really? I would be interested in reading that. I guess my info wasn't exactly researched in depth. I am just going off of J.D. Power Dependability studies and other stuff that came up when I googled "most reliable car."

Thats pretty impressive, but you can't base the reliability of an entire brand on the performance of one single car. I trust the studies.

I trust what I find. Show me the "studies".

EDIT: Motor Trend Magazine rated Volvo as the longest lasting automobile. However, I found that on a wiki-answer, not from Motor Trend Magazine. I am currently trying to track down the article.

EDIT 2: I can't find the article...disregard the above quote as hearsay for now.
