SA/CA Cichlid for my 55gal?

I'm looking for something like convicts that could work with my danios but could be a feature after I move the pleco in a year or so.
I know apistogramma are an option, But I would rather something bigger.

I've seen them with ZDs, are convicts an option?

are you referring to sajica's t-bar??? if so that will be a better option due to less aggressive and more colorful...con's tend to be very very nasty pound for pound.

Will It eat the danios?

probly they will eat every thing in the tank ! like most cichlids

sajicas are quite peaceful. shouldn´t be a problem if the danios are big enough to not be eaten. I´m currently keeping black skirts with a big male sajica.
what kind of danios do you have?

my severums never really payed any attention to danios. maybe festivus or rainbow cichlids

then it might be a problem. It´s better to have highbodied or larger fish as dithers for cichlids.
