Sa/Ca stock for the 300

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks everyone for putting in some input.
i said screw it today and started stocking the tank but while i was at it i measured, weighed and photographed all the fish going into the 300. i realize i'm probably asking for trouble with the breeding pairs in the community but i'll see what happens. don't know till you try i guess.
side note i am still thinking of adding a green texas, maybe a Green terror, and maybe just maybe a oscar ( i just don't want it to eat my pictus catfish )

so stock as of today (all measurements are tip of the head to the end of the tail)
cichlids
1 silver saum 7.5" 278 grams
1 cyano 8.5" 268g
1 Red devil 7" 164g
1 Green severum 5.5" 84g
2 Jack dempseys A 6.5" 118g, B 6.5" 138g
3 salvini cichlids 2male 1female, male A 5" 56g, B 5" 46g, female 4.5" 30g
3 male convicts A 6.5" 100g, B 5.75" 96g, C 6 92g
Others
1 Black ghost knife 8" 42g

Nice looking fish man. Hope it goes well!

I guess i'll do a update on my stock.
Everything i added is still in there plus a 12" Gold saum and a 6-7" H. carpintis.

i would like to remove two of the convicts and one of the dempseys (the one with a crooked face) but they are two hard to catch so i'm leaving them.

The one thing i have noticed is my pictus catfish are not making it. in the 55 they were always out swimming in the big tank i have not seen one till today and a body that washed out on a water change. the one i saw looked ruff, stub tail and when the carpintis saw it right away hit it and try to eat it.

the striped raphael catfish i see more now in the big tank looks alright.

Black ghost knife is doing good, it looks like no splits in it fin and is ignored by the cichlids for the most part. cruises the tank with the lights on

The new GT(gold saum) had a little trouble being added to the tank it got its eye bit by my red devil right away and that filled with blood. he hid out in the rocks for a week then came out and fought with my Cyano (the king of the tank) for a few days to clam a little piece of the bottom. no real damage just missing part of its bottom lip.

nice tank by the way but i would deffenatly catch a dempsey as if they breed it will be chaos trust me

SWEET TANK! That looks really cool! Now I am assuming those plants are real in there correct? What kind of plants are they? do they seem to hold up well with the big fish? do the fish leave them alone? I would like to try real plants and have very similar stocklist of fish so I wanted to check.

One more question... Did you build the tank yourself? Is it a plywood build project?
