Currently have a 74 gallon column tank cycling that I would like to add a few SA Leaf Fish to the top water column of the tank. I have a Ehiem 350 canister which is rated for that size tank. Beacuse it is a column tank it doesn’t have the length of a standard size aquarium. As such, it seems as though the water movement at the top of the tank from the spray bar is “excessive”. Since the Ehiem’s flow rate can not be adjusted and the Leaf Fish do not like turbulence, Any suggestions on how to lower the flow rate? Someone at the LFS suggested drilling more holes in the spraybar facing down. Thoughts?

Add some floating plants maybe they will help. I suggest not doing anything to spray bar just in case you decide to use filter on another aquarium in the future.

Floating plants seem like a good start! Wouldnt it be easy just to purchase a new spray bar in the future if I had a different need down the road?

Incase of natural feeding on you leaf fish you can try Sterilize Mosquito Larvae for Aquarium Fish & Feeding i've tried it so far and it works for me. or if buy different natural fish foods for best application check the labels is sure theirs a guide to help you out.

If you can purchase one that fits your filter that would be great.

List of the items you need to have for a better fish tanks for your fish.

> Aquarium hood/lid
> Aquarim Filters
> Aquarium stands
> Filter accessories
> Aquarium Lighting
> Air pumps, bubbles and all that jazz
> Aquarium heaters
> Décor and accessories
> Water and water test kits
> Aquarium Cleaning
> Food

Note: always read the label printing for better application.

I got an upgraded spray bar for my Eheim 2217 and it has 3 adjustable parts so you can direct the water flow in different areas, which breaks it up a bit. I have one toward the surface for agitation, and the other two into the glass which means there's not as much current in the water column.

Is your spraybar one piece? If not maybe you can find what I'm talking about - I got mine on Amazon. I can try to find it if you'd like.

I also think floating plants are great for these fish no matter what. :)
