Whats the deal they died at a foot long? whats that all about. that's kind of :swear: ! Reason I'm asking is my friend saw one and now whats one. so any information would be help. :help2:

nobody seems to have a real answer, but many say its related to inadequate water current and perhaps being kept in too small a tank; they may require multiple powerheads creating a fast current, and a larger tank than usual for fish of its size

there's nothing special about them aside from the teeth, anyway

yeah they need huge tanks and the proper current to even be happy. they are aggressive towards their own kind if not given enough space.

they need lots of space and at least the tank to cycle 10 times the amount of water per hour I had 3 about 15" but they died do to a power outage in a 700 gallon tank

That they are so touchy about water flow is disappointing, the teeth make them special enough. They look like something from the deep sea.

the way I had my tank set up I had the flow comming from the middle of the tank from both directions
