Was just wondering how much these guys cost at around 5-6" and how big they can actually get in a tank. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

At one pet store they had them for $24.99, but he was in the wrong tank so I got him for $9.99. Got rid of him a few days later at another LFS, they sell them for $50, so I got $25 in store credit and bought a 4-4.5 inch Teminis (SP??) Peacock Bass.
 
dependsa where u buy them and im not sure how big they get.. my uncle has 10 inch ones though
 
are you talking about payara.
not sure in the US but here they cost about £30 or $50 usd.

I got mine for 50 bucks, he looks cool but kind of a wuss in the tank
 
I just picked one up yesterday. It was listed at 49 but got him for 39 cuz the guy didn't know what he was selling. Mine's in about the 3" range right now though.
 
The largest i've seen is around 2ft in monster fish keeper book vol.6. The owner kept him in a 10 footer tank, but I not very sure it is Hydrolycus scomberoides or armatus or cynodon gibbus.
