  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes... i really did not think the LFS was sincere.. should not be selling a baby of this size ..so what ever he said does not impress me to be true.. he should have given this guy a little time to grow and be hardy before he sold him.. at least if i owned the store i would..

I'm sorry.. but thats soo not the way to sell a young baby arowana...

Also.. i never buy a fish that i dont have a proper facility to house it...

Thats very bad fish keeping habit if u just buy it and dont have a tank to house it safely...

I def think u should just drive over to your local petsmart or petco and get a good 10-15 gallon tank for less than $20bucks and get a small heater for it...

agreed
float it in the tank while u drive there get a $30 20 long and a $8 heater
throw on the filter from your 55 and buy an ac70 for the 55 and ur set

i cannot tell you how many times an innocent person buys a fish thinking they can trust what the LFS tells them... he is doing everything right by second quessing what he was told.. by asking here for advise.. but now time is of the essense since he needs to come out of the bag... so either divide off the tank or get another small tank with a cover.. because these little guys are jumpers too.. you must tape up every little itty bitty hole..

i have a 220 for him when he is big.....i have an extra 20 and 10 to put him in now....i actually filled a 10 with water from the 55 and have a back up filter that was running in the 55 so it has bacteria in it. So im going to put him in that now.

thats terrific... hope he will do fine... we are rooting for him... and want pics soon..

I have housed a baby jardini in a 10 gallon for about 2 months with a wood cover, but had some spaces open..

I didnt fill the water full tho.. just enough for the jardini to swim and not high enough for him to jump out..

I have not kept a baby silver tho.. so far all of my silvers were grow out from 6" or a 10"....

(OH on a side note) i was doing some feeding in my 150gallon yesterday and for the 1st time.. my arowana actually swim up to my fingers and let me pet him!!! NEVER thought that was possible.. but he was sooo calm... I did had bine shrimp in my hand so maybe thats why.... but lol.. ok.. side tracked...

Get a good tank and make sure the baby is safe!!! :headbang2
