I went to downtown Sac for some Endlicheri Endlicheri (Hopefully a congicus) I snapped a ton of shots in the process for MFKers to enjoy

First stop Capitol Aquarium

One of my favorite tanks there...

Hope someone saves this guy soon....

And hope they at least go to a real home .

Mini Pacu/Catfish pond These guys loved the hand full of feeders they got

The tank below is their 1000 gallon display tank. Some of the loaches are approaching 11" pretty cool. The big Niger is about 30-34"

This one kinda bothers me this Giant Gourami lives in here permanently Its about 60-75 gallons he can't do much but turn around. Either way he is a beauty.

Their mascot Red Devil. He likes to chase kids around the tank that tease him (There is a sign encouraging folks to do so I however chose not to)

On to one of my Favorites "Exotic Aquarium" Has one of the biggest selections in Nor-Cal

I love this Ornate's coloring but he had one cloudy eye Otherwise he would have come home with me

Sorry not many pics from JoJO's normally the owner is a great guy real enthusiast but was in a terrible mood and told me no camera

At the end of the day I came home with the pair of Endlicheri from exotic aquarium !!

id say exotic aquarium is my favorite spot, due to theyre selection.

have you been to Aqua works yet? they got the cleanest set up i think!

That 1st store looks bad. The fin rot on that silver in what looks to be a 29gallon is rediculous.

ew wat happened to that 1000 gal display. it used to be clear, n they used to have a big tarpon in it...

love exotic though and that gar i believe its a beani or watever or boulengerella laterstriga or watever ( not the cichlid beani) in other words, its a characin not a gar ...
150 bux for gulper isnt that pretty good?

I miss Sacramento LFS - some really good ones. We moved away about 2 years ago.

Aqua Works is a great store and owned by Jack and Peggi, who also own O St (still open?). Jack and Peggi are totally stand up people who will treat your right.

I used to live down the street from Capitol Aquarium so was there all the time. It has its issues but has been open for a LONG time (must be doing something right).

Exotic was just getting off the ground when I moved. Initially I wasn't impressed but from what I hear they're getting their act together. Back on Florin the store had a couple of people who knew cichlids. Not so much when they moved. Not that I live there anymore, but I quit buying from them after a couple of bait and switch pricing swindles by the owner (asked the price of a group of fish...was given one price by the guy who caught my fish...was - intentionally - charged another price by the owner at the counter. This happended at least 3 time shopping there.)
