Is it just me or is there something with genetics going on with fire eels. Some at the same age can be 12" and the other be 30"+ inches. Gigantism is in effect here! Go surf youtube and you'll see some of the young ages of there monster fire eels.

Uggggh just had the same thing happen to me with Noodleface. What the HELL? More importantly, WHY and HOW did he find the tiniest crack in a sealed lid with taped-over gaps -- AFTER making a 2 inch leap between water and the nearest opening!? His impression of beef jerky is spot-on, but irreversible.

:(

Well...Since my fire eel passes tank hasnt felt complete, Since then we picked up a tire track eel as i haven't had one yet. Anyone have some pics of the monster she can become ?

Look up Akskermish i believes thread her ein the eel section for one of the nicest tire tracks Ive ever seen.

And I think almost everyone who keeps spiney eels has had jumpers, sadly. They seem to jump over any "negative" impact on a tank. ie poor water, aggression from tank-mates, inadequete hideing spots.. in a nutshell stress... spineys that are stressed almost always jump, sick ones die.. stressed ones jump.
