so..it happened I was using my python to clean my tanks and the one time i forget to cover the intake my 5 inch golden wonder killi male decides to "attack" the hose and takes a wild ride down 100 feet of water..where i was standing at the sink rinsing some sponges ..i see something and shut the water off...pull those hose out and spray the bathroom with fish water..reverse the flow and pull him out of the T joint... it was to late he died with in a few moments .
RIP man..you were a mean SOB and I loved it!!.
14(sadly these are older pics..and dont show his lovely self when he was all colored up and sexy for his girls)
he had two girl friends that i thought i had seen breeding with him the last few weeks of his life..and i just picked him up a third lady who is currently in the grow out tank.
I was so sad after i lost him..
two days ago while feeding I noticed a white fuzzy egg
....my heat gave a little jump but I realized it was dead...(of course this tank is at the TOP of my 20 long rack...so i had to get a stool)..I started pulling threw the java moss and found piles of dead eggs all white and fuzzy </3 i was even more bummed!
but!! out of a few dozen white fuzzy eggs (thats what i get for not paying attention)
i found 4 viable alive eggs!!!!!!!...you can see them in the eggs at this point, i moved them to a plastic breeder box with java moss and pennywort to avoid them becoming snacks!

you can see eyes of the one in the java moss <3!!!!! i am so happy to of found these guys..Im hoping they all make it

comments and tips more than welcome on keeping these guys alive..i always have micro worm cultures going so food will not be a problem.
