U can keep this awesome catfish called a Cloumbien Catfish (sp?) it has a great personality! But you would need marine setup they get medium sized just makesure you have a long tank
I'll look into a wels but most people on here with paroons say/have paroons that they rarely go over 4-5ft?
Still 5' for a fish that never stops swimming. Go for it man. Especially if you are going to upgrade in the future.

LOL - Have you ever seen the show River Monsters on Animal Planet? Do a YouTube search for Wels Catfish on River Monsters...He went and tried to fish out big ones because he got reports of them attacking people while they swam! He pulled one out at 160 lbs!
