Sad news..

well, as many of you know..my grandfather has been in bad health for some time now..

this morning at around 11:30, his crippling pain, and suffering ended.

he had been battling this cancer for 5 years, and in my my faith..he won this battle, as he gets to be in heaven with the lord, and his mother who he holds dearly to his heart..as well as his old war buddies who where killed in world war 2.

i will mourn the loss of him, but i will be strong for him..as i know where he is, and i know he is no longer suffering. i'm happy that this did not come as a shock..and that we live just across the street, and could see him at anytime we wanted.

he was a warrior is many ways, and he will never be forgotten

Dan i remenber this picture so well.. when you first posted it in my thread i said to myself there is a grandson who really loves his Grandpa.. you two were really tight ..i saw in that picture how your family was built around love... they raised a guy with deep love and respect of his family..something that you do not see often enough today... i got all that out of this picture..and more... and it reminded me of how important it is...and what a difference it makes in a grandson/son's life.. my sincere sympathy to you.. no doubt you will miss this great man,father and grandfather deeply but you will follow in his foot steps always...as your son will follow in yours someday.. because his heritage and his love will live forever.
