So I came home to a dead FH today. I got him a little over 5 years ago. I got him for $6. He was a great fish and he will be missed. My wife was crying about him dying. He was her favorite. Here is a link from the day I got him, http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?190258-My-new-little-guy He grew very fast. He was AWESOME! I knew he was close but I didn't think he would go that fast. I noticed him breathing harder on Sunday during a water change. Went down hill from there. There are plenty of pics of him all of MFK. He is the fish in my Avatar.

Sorry for your lost fobrinkle 5 years is a very long life for a now day flowerhorn. I also have a 7 years old flowerhorn passed away in 2010(he was just a low grade red dragon, but really playfull), I know how it feels like when you lost your favorite pet....... Did you release him to the river or bury him? What I did to mine is release him back to the river live in the water and die in the water........ I hope you guys find another guy to replace him, but sometimes I think it hard to get another fish to replace your old one.

Thanks for the condolences. I hate to say it but he is in the trash. The ground is frozen here as are the rivers (not that I would ever choose that option, you could put diseases into the river system from your tank). It sucks losing him but now I have room for a new fish and am looking forward to getting a new little guy to raise.

Sorry, man. Losing a big fish you've grown out cuts deep.

Sorry for your loss I know how you feel I lost my six year old jardini last year

That sucks man, I know how it feels. Losing my 1 year old silver aro and my 7 year old chocolate cichlid this past year really cut deep.
