......... I also have a 7 years old flowerhorn passed away in 2010............................................. Did you release him to the river or bury him? What I did to mine is release him back to the river live in the water and die in the water........

FYI, for one thing, flowerhorns never came from any river, so it's false thinking that you "release him back to the river".
Secondly & most important: releasing any aquarium kept fish into a natural waterway is illegal in every state. dead or alive, they expose native fish to pathogens which are deadly to them because they have NO immunity to them.
