Guys, this is so sad. I had sold my Argentea to a guy on Craig's list. He had a nice big tank and sounded like he wanted to breed her because he was asking if she had laid eggs before. Anyway, this past weekend my husband and I are at the lfs just window shopping. Lo and behold, there's my Argentea. I know it's her. I recognized the little split in her caudal fin, the slight bend at the top of her dorsal, faint nip marks on her side from the black belt. We go and ask one of the workers if she was a trade in. Yes, someone had just brought her in that week. I felt so bad for her. Here I thought she was going to a good home and I see her by herself in a small tank at the lfs. When I was looking at her she starts doing her little tail wag dance at the glass. Did she recognize me? I was gutted. They wanted $40 for her ( I had sold her for $20). But I have No room for her and I don't want to put her back in the 150 because she and the black belt don't get along. So my hubby and I are looking for a corner tank (hopefully a 75) that we might be able to squeeze into a spot in our living room. We find a perfect tank on craigslist for a great price but it gets sold right away. So the search continues. We can't really afford another tank but I felt so so bad seeing her at the lfs. Anyway, hopefully if she's still there when we find a tank we will get her back and give her her own tank. Or maybe someone will snag her up and give her a good home.

Sorry it happened that way, u could try to divide your 150 as a temporary idea.the divider is not hard to make at all. Using pvc and lighting diffuser.search here or utube

Yeah, I had thought about that but I hate to divide it. I have some large (10"+) Balas that use every inch of that 6 foot tank. :/

Unfortunate but when you sell something that's the way it goes. Makes me think of when I sold my first Harley and the guy wrecked it beyond repair. All sales are final be prepared for that when you take the cash. That being said good luck with the argentea if that's the way you go.

When I was selling my Midas at 15.5 inches there was 10 people interested mainly due to my 20$ price tag. I told them send me pictures of the tanks and more than half had 55 gallons or less. One guy said he should be fine in a 10 gallon right. Well ended up selling it to a guy who had an indoor pond with cichlids.

People suck but hey that's how life is. Maybe something happened to his tank or it beat up his fish. I would get rid of it as well if there was no good harmony. Probably not at a LFS though he or she probably got 10-20 bucks for it max

Post a pic!

Yeah, I realize that's the chance you take when you sell a fish. It was just a shock to see her there at the fish store. Here's a pic of her.

that sucks.
this is typical in my area. I've spoke to a ton of local keepers and made friends with the lfs owner and its just a revolving door of fish here. even for the people a little more serious about keeping fish , non stop trading.

She's beautiful! Hopefully you can get her back. Good luck! :)
