Im probaly the only guy on mfk that has a guy from my lfs maintain my tank..This saturday the guy came over and serviced my tank like usual which he usually comes every 2-3 weeks..Come the next day v-day me and the girlie where out and about most of the day but ended back home about 8pm. I immidiatly noticed my fish seemed to be breathing hard. I watch for 5 mins and my Azul started swimin at the bottom of the tank which he never ever does then bam he flops over on his side and my freakin heart stoped. I paniced and called my buddy that lives down the street that has a tank and told him i needed to put my fish in his tank before they die..he came over with a bucket with some of his water and we put my Occel, NGT, and Ornate in it. By the time he got there my Azul was dead..My friend will keep my fish for a couple weeks for me untill i get my tank together..Im going camping this weekend in Glamis so my aquarium will have to wait, untill the following weekend..Ive talked to my fish guy and hes telling me he will come back and fix the tank at no charge. But im feeling like punching him right in the mouth for killing my azul..Not only i felt attached to that fish like a normal pet but thats a lot of freakin money to loose..jus sux and needed to vent.

was the failure something he did?
if so charge him for the ****in zullie

Man, I have no idea. When i called the guy he said "check and see if the filter is working" followed but ill stop by 2morro to check it out..But i knew if i would have waited untill the next day all my fish would have died..all my other fish are alive and well in my buddies tank..

Sorry for your loss but that's why you should take care of your fish yourself. I wouldn't let anyone touch my tanks in a million years. I value my fish too much to leave them in someone else's hands.

I agree with Tim. Though not meant to bash because I don't know your work or life schedule. You might not have the time for it. Just the time to enjoy it. :)

Part of fish keeping is enjoying the fruits of your labor. Sucks that you lost a fish but you should take that as a sign that you should take things into your own hands!

wow.. sorry for your lost...

Ya.... i wouldn't trust anyone doing tank maintenance for me...

also.. it sounds as if its a water problem... that fact that the fish was breathing hard.. seems like the guy forgot to put water conditioners?

who gives a **** if you take care of your tank or not but in my opinion if it was working fine and fish were fine before the guy came over and then after he left your blue died and your other fish arnt sick or anything my guess would be that something happend when he was working on it... I would check your filter and test your water man im sorry for your loss and best of luck in the future man

Yea the whole situation is jacked up but im comfortable with having this guy maintain the tank hes been doing so for 2 years now..Keeping expensive fish is the reason why i hired him..to me its just to big of risk and to much work to clean tanks..id rather just enjoy the tank..
