I was thinking about possibly feeding a small frog to my LMB. Which species should I avoid? Which species would you recommend?

I would say that its ok to feed them frogs, i would stick to bull and green frogs, Or depending on where you live leopards. Ones to aviod are pickeral frogs and also any of the toads. Your bass will know which ones it cant eat. namely because they taste really bad.

I have to catch bull frogs in my pond. They eat all of the bugs and small fish, so they are a nuisance to my setup. My Oscar, perch, and Frontosa's will eat them. No problems with the bones. If I do feed a frog then I skip a day or two afterwards. Amphibs and reptiles are a common food for some predatory fish.

I would feed bull frogs, leopards, and tadpoles from either.

ive heard that a tadpole's mucus layer is poisonous, or that it tastes bad to fish, ive tried, but the fish spit them out. But since bass are not pick by any means, i would say you could feed all of the frogs posted abouve with the acception of the pickerel frog. ill look in to that tadpole thing.

i personally like frogs and toads and feel guilty when i kill one or feed them to something. so with my gar i would just go to the sea food place and get packaged frozen frog legs. i would thaw them out and he would snatch them up. my alligator snapping turtle also likes frog legs ;)

never mind just like you should not feed toads to your fish, their eggs and tadpoles are also poisonous, and thay taste bad to fish, feed all the frog tadpoles to your fish as youd like!

Yeah I agree stay away from TOADS....but the above named Frogs are fine. If the fish likes em he'll woof em down. If he doesnt he'll spit em out....
