I have a friend that at the moment has 2- 2" senegal bichir. His question to me (which I am posting to all of you) is can he keep this with a texas speckler cichlid or angels of some kind? Bichir being african and the cichlid I believe being C.A. seems to be the first problem to be as well as the aggro from the texas toward the bichir. Any advise would be welcomed. (ALSO if anyone is looking for either an Endi or Ornate I saw one of each yesterday in the manalapan area of NJ in a LFS.) Looking for a 2-3 inch delhezi for myself atm.

He can keep it with cichlids as long as they're not aggressive to the bichir. An angelfish would be fine with a senegal although I don't think a texas would be a good idea.

I was thinking along the same lines as you it seems but it never hurts to ask other peoples opinions. Thx

It really depends on how agressive all parties are.bichirs are generally non agressive and should be kept with other non agressive species. To help avoid agression when mixing cichlids and bichirs avoid mating pairs of cichlids.-Anne
