I found some of this down near the river. Its fairly dry, but still a little green. Not even entirely sure what type of wood it is, but it looks awesome. I want to put it in my tanks, but want to make sure its cool first. Anywho, I took some pictures of parts of it...lol.

I think its either IronWood or River Birch..lol. They grow a lot down here, especially along the Mississippi river, pretty sure its not Eucalyptus though. I'll check it out though! Thanks for the tip! :D

If its green, or newly fallen, why would it rot? You'd think that would make it rot slower.
 
If its still alittle green my thinking is that it will probably leak some sap into your tank.
 
Don't use it. It looks like birch to me and it will leach sap in your tank.
