Safest way to catch and move an aro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i use "what we call here" a prawn bag. its a thick plastic bag renforced with stronger plastic at the bottom to support the weight of the water. just slowly coax your aro into the bag and lift up.

I just use a large net...

way I do it:
lower water level to half
definitely use a huge transparent bag.
open it and fish will go in, directing it might be easier.
let it jump in the bag until it settle.

did the same procedure several times when i moved my aro before and no harm done. :grinyes:

what my sister does is take a regular net, with all the neetting cut off, place a bag and put it where the net used to be... and scoop him into the bag.

i did the bucket pickup before, just stick a 5 gallon bucket in the tank and get him that way...no harm at all.

i tried the bag and net too, the bag works well coz the fish gets less stress from the darkness of the garbage bag. i wouldnt risk the bucket, the material is too solid for control and the aro might jump right out
