well, I haven't seen one laid out on a tape measure, but have seen some males that I bet were 6" including fins. I don't have proof, but my opinion is that it is possible for them to grow that large.
If somebody has a big old male let's see some pics next to a ruler!

I would think multispinosa would be a bit smaller more like 5" maximum. Again this is just my observations over the years, I don't have a definitive answer. Maybe somebody has a monster rainbow cichlid out there. I also think it is possible for certain individuals to grow larger than is typical for their species. So could be some exceptionally large cichlids that aren't representative of their species as a whole.
