for larger batches of fry and faster growing fry then I would go convicts. For appearance though obviously you can't beat sajica.
Keep up with the water changes, don't overfeed and they should be fine until you get them in the 20 gallon. But I think they will need at least a 40 gallon long term since they can grow to 5". That's just my opinion though.I got 2 small sajicas. Im positive I have a female and male. The guy I got them from said they have spawned before. They are pretty stressed right now though. There in a 10 gallon atm. My friend said he would trade me a 20 gallong for some sajica fry so they might live in there for a couple months. They are really small like 2 inches. Do you think they would be fine for 2 months? They are with 3 guppies and the T-bars just ignore the guppies.
thanks. Could I put a towel over it block out the lights? You'll have to wait til they get used to their new environment like any other fish. Keeping the lights off and minimizing the amount of activity going on around the tank will help.
Thank you. Just turning off the tank lights worked great. I checked on them and most of there stress coloration was gone. There colors were a lot better. They even were fine out under the lights if there was no movement. I know I just got these fish but so far I am seeing very little aggression towards each other or the guppies. The only thing close to aggression I saw was 2 seconds of tail slapping. They are always swimming side by side. Do you think they could start breeding within a couple weeks? You can if you want to, but just turning off the bright tank lights is enough.
