sal help needed

my sal(approx 12'') has gone from a blackish grey color to a creamy off white color, i know that they do change color as they grow but should this happen over night he was blackish when i turned the light off last night and creamy white when the lights came on this morning. he doesn't look or act sick but i'm still a little worried

no camera but it wouldn't help any how as he is back to normal, so i have no clue as to what went on

You SAL might have shed its slime coat for some reason.

lightened in the night. alot of fish do this, my sal included

it lasted for about 24 hours tho not just at night
