salamander as fish food?

i believe it is a newt i been trying to google it but i can not find it

Looks like an Eastern Newt(Notophthalmus viridescens)
 
I dont think that it would be worth it. Not feeding it a salamander wouldnt be that bad. Just stick with what you are feeding it cause The risk is not worth the reward.
 
kinda looks liek a red bellied newt if it didnt have the spot on its back (Carnivorous Vulgarous i think) i have one as a pet and they are toxic, they give off small traces of salmonella, not worth it lol...:P
 
Its much more cost efficient if you just feed tadpoles . . . ;). You can get bullfrog and leopard frog tadpoles from most bait shops. They are great and very high in protein. Plus are pretty easy to gutload since they eat just about everything. ;)
 
That and most of NA salamanders and amphibians are in decline so... (unsure with this species though)
 
Look up what species it is before feeding some salamanders/newts give off a toxin thats simply an irritant others are deadly
