Very cool.

The skin tells you it's a reptile right away, salamanders have moist, scaleless skin. Also, the pointed head and forward facing eyes are unlike any caudate I've ever seen.

I agree that it is a legless lizard, but I've only seen them in books.

i have seen legless lizards at my lfs/reptile store. except the ones they had were way bigger than this one. looks the same though, just bigger.:)

thanks for the info,
I did a few search on this animal, still could not find the right type of it. It may be a legless lizard, however just like its called, the " legless lizard " has no legs, off course, but the one that I found does have legs, and they are so tiny just like on the pictures,
sorry guys, just wanna know more about this reptile; one thing for sure, that it does not live in the water, but it lives on the moisture area just like where I found it.
anyway I let the creature go, after a few snap shots, couse I think its better for it to be in its nature,... so its free now...
I know what legless lizard is, couse I found them as well in my backyard a long time ago, cool huh, and the lizard body was black and silverish color, no legs though.

It is a species of skink. I could not find much good info on your country's skinks, but you could probably get some help by contacting a local university or museum.

There are no salamanders in Indonesia. The closest they get is parts of Laos and Vietnam.
