Salmon in the Classroom

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So I went into my classroom yesterday to check out the salmon. They are doing great. They've started swimming all over the tank. They should be buttoned up in about a week. Perfect timing, we start back to school next monday. I only had my cell with me so here are two low quality pics.

Here is an update on the fry. They are doing great. About 50% of them have buttoned up and are beginning to swim towards the top looking for food. There was a few question about the chiller so I am including a picture of it. It is made by the Glacier Corp. It's old but still works great.

There were some dead fry that I had to take out today. Some of them had birth defects and wouldn't be able to survive once the yolk sac was gone. You can see one of the fry on the left side of the plate, it was coiled up like a spring. There were a few like that.

nice looking salmon would be cool to keep one longer and watch it grow even more

Grow a few out for me to 5-6" and then bring them to me. My girlfriends got a natural pond. I wonder if they'd survive in there.. Doubt it, but worth a try.
illegal most likly, and it wouldnt work need more space then a pond and must be cold water
