Salt for Flowerhorn

Plus one of my flowerhorn aquatic fan uses 1 teaspoon of salt every water change.

And when i introduced my flowerhorn about after 1 day there was a nitrite and ammonia spike and on the website it says it will protect the fish a little from the nitrite poisoning.

I keep salt in all of my tanks, it helps when there injured and wards off parasites, or so ive read. I work at a LFS and we recomend it alot esp for people with ponds.

Why are you adding salt? There is no reason why you should unless your fish are ill.

maybe for prevention of disease like ich and white spot.

Im going to address your feeding: I would be feeding even a 7 inch male more then 14 medium sized pellets a day. Honestly, with my strong filtration, and weekly water changes, I would be at almost double that. You never want a fat fish but a male at 7 inches might still be growing and at only 14 pellets a day I do not consider that enough food.
