I have a 6' 125 gallon with Mbuna. African cichlids. Lots of great color!! Be careful with africans. Do your homework. Not all africans go well together. LFS's will tell you as long as they are africans, their fine. Not alway true. I.E. Mbuna and peacocks not a good mix. Check it out and good luck.

Couldn't agree more. Africans are a cheaper alternative to saltwater. Great colors and they also teach you how to manage your water parameters closely. Plus Africans are VERY affordable in comparison to saltwater specimens. Good luck, and enjoy!

saltwater is tight, more interesting imo, but it costs alot more. you have to buy alot more crap and maintenence is a lil harder.

freshwater is okay. you can grow some big fish in that tank.

and welcome.

i recommend you start off with freshwater before you jump into salt.

alot more crap?

no you dont

more like afew things :grinyes:

I keep freshwater because salt tanks usually look dirty to me lol.....
