Salts.. what kind of salt you use?

Underwater Adventures uses Instant Ocean. Monster size bag.

I would stick with aquarium salt you don't really need the added buffering and minerals that come with sea salt

I use Sun Gems. It's sold as a water softener and made from saltwater in the Netherlands, Antilles. It's dried seawater $ 6 for 60 pounds at Home Depot.

I was going to ask if water softener salt would be alright. I don't see why not and now that I know others use it that's what I'll get as well:D

When buying water softener salt for your tanks stay away from the bags that has additives like the ones that has stuff that removes iron from tap water.

Absolutely agreed.

The best salt is what in Europe is called " salt flower " which is the first layer in the salt deposits.....

I've used the aquarium salt by API they sell at the LFS (but its kinda pricey) and alternatively marine salt such as Instant Ocean I have left over from my saltwater tank to dose my freshwater tank, when needed. :)

Instant Ocean. Aquarium salt if I'm out of I.O.
