Rotifers only work for a short term they quickly require larger/more protine food stuffs.

I know that, but thanks for enlightening others (I breed clowns). Most people have the hardest time when they have just hatched, which is when rotifers are the best option. Once they are big enough, I feed mine a mixture of NLS grow, enriched brine shrimp, cyclopeeze, and vitachem

Im not a fan of the Brines though have had good success with them (like many breeders have), even enriched I find them lacking... I try to get good caliniod pods whenever possible, and when its not I try to switch to larval pellet feed as soon as possible.

I find this site awesome in that people usually post entire threads of the breeding process, including the occasional microscope picture of the eggs and whatnot.

Happy research!

That is my go to site for information.

I'm looking into getting started but I just don't have the room for it. I'd love to breed my little clowns I've had for a few years just to get a hang of it before I have enough space to do one of the large breeding rooms you see people have on that site. I already know my clowns are a male and female pair, and I think they have spawned before in my display tank, because I see them cleaning off areas around their tiny anemone(the poor bugger got chewed up in a powerhead, took a whole chunk out. That was a few months ago so I think he's in the clear.) Another problem is my evil Debelius reef lobster probably terrorizes the nest overnight as he does with everything else. Only thing I ever see of him is when he molts his skins and leaves them out in the open. He's almost like a mythological creature, you never actually see him.
