As i am sure everyone here knows now it was my little siblings that did it not me, so i do not appreciate some of the comments received. If there was something i could have done to not allow this to happen i would have, but it was done while i was at work not with me standing there letting them do it (i don't want saltwater fish in my pond, or any other fish for that matter). Unfortunatly there isn't really any real way for me to get them out of there once there are in. I was just surprised that after a several hours in fresh water that they were still alive. O and it wasnt my experiment so don`t say it was. Any I didn`t do it for my entertainment so lay off! I have been keeping fish for 5 years, and have a saltwater tank for my saltwater fish. My pond in for the golfish that are in it and thats the way i plan on keeping it.
You could have just cut there head off. not very intresting to put somthing in a gas chamber that takes 24 hrs to work!
Don't put fresh water fish in saltwater and vice versa! It is unethical. BAD EXPERIMENT! - bigspizz
Im a down to earth animal person and I am not a nut though. I have the same feelings on all of it and its pretty simple.
Animals (including fish) should not suffer at the hands of humans and we should not allow them to suffer. Simple as that. Why I am a huge pusher of fishless cyles on tanks. If you use fish, I think you owe it to the fish, feeders or not to do pwc and make it as comfortable as you can for them.
I agree that tossing them into a freshwater pond "just to see" and allowing them to suffer was bad practice Bait or not. Bait is using them to get fish that are food to eat so it is different.
Just tossing them in to suffer for nothing but entertainment and no real use is a waste.
my 2 cents. courtneem
