Hey.. as i was walking in a lfs, and passed by the saltwater isle i saw a few flowerhorns in the saltwater tanks along with some other saltwater tank mates!! At first i thought i had to do a double take and it really was a FH in a saltwater tank, swimming around like normal!! To me it looked REALLY odd, but it was cool to see tho! I guess they had to convert them very slowly until it has fully adapted to saltwater.

interesting

Yeah, it's been done before. The guy threw in a FH as a feeder for his salt water fishes and the flowerhorn ended up living in the water. I do agree they wont live as long as they should. And we dont even know how it feels living in the sat water. Must be uncomfortable.

WOW that's very wierd!

^^Who would use a FH as a feeder

A FH breeder of course....Or someone, who wanted to feed a FH, to a bigger fish.

FH are tough or most of them are anyway.

wow.. did not know that could work out..
It won't work out actually. The osmoregulatory system between freshwater and saltwater is very different. Mollies and most developing brackish water species may just be the exceptions in cases like this.
