Saltwater FOWLR: Added the last fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think I will wait until I get a bigger tank to get the wrasse. Maybe a couple cleaner gobies? Eventually I'll have a cleaner tank, with a Cleaner Shrimp, Cleaner Gobies, Cleaner Wrasse, and a Remora. Probably not on the Remora. LOL

DO NOT EVER GET CLEANER WRASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
almost no cw's are bred in captivity, they're all wild caught. when you take them out their posts (and yeah they do set up stations) go unattended and disease breaksout in the area. it's a real strain on the ecosystem.
also you need a really REALLY large tank (10's of thousands) chocked full of large fish to even think bout feeding them properly. they almost never take premade foods.

Not true. I had a cleaner wrasse live for almost 11 months, with only 1 ich breakout.
He was in a 250g, but definatly not 10's of thousands.

Mine was doing great until parasite outbeak. It killed all my fish, not just the wrasse.

wasn't that kinda the point of the wrasse?

11 months? they are supposed to live for like ten years!
or was it the ich that did him in?

Wrasse don't clean smaller fish.

Does anyone know where I can get some live and/or base rock for my 210g salt water aquarium reasonable (cheap) prices? In the New York area or willing to ship the rock to the New York area.

I also have a lot of red lava rock, gray moon rock, and white gravel that we could either trade or you could purchase it from me. I have about 200 pounds of rock and about 200 pounds of gravel. You see, my 210 gallon aquarium was used for African cichlids and I am going to now use it for salt water FOWLR.

Please help me out, it would be greatly appreciated

I believe it's common for cleaner wrasse to die off, if there are no parasites to feed off in a marine tank (i.e. your fish are clean...)
