saltwater ick

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Like i said i've dosed kick ich into my tanks, display tanks. I don't have a quarantine tank (horrible i know), and it's gotten rid of it successfully both times i've had a problem with it. With no ill effects to corals or inverts, it does not have any copper in it.

True hyposalinity will kill all corals and inverts. I currently have a 120 running at 1.011 cured the ich on everyone but the original puffer who brought it in. Its been 3 months and he just cant kick it. Im going to quarenteen him and treat with something. I used a kordon brand in a different system for my snapper and you could tell the live rock died. Algea wouldnt grow for months. Kordon rid ich i believe, and it did eventually cure my tank. Id pick up a 10 gal for under $20 and treat the infected fish in there . Ich wont survive in your tank with no fish for 3 months i believe. Cleaner shrimp always helps, but most treatments/hypo salinity will kill them.

Fw dip before other attempts. Repeatedly, if need be.

you can try using a gralic extarct liquid on there food it works wonders and is totally reef safe takes a while but is works most treatments that say there reef safe should say invert safe only

Ive had this problem soo many times. Turn the heat up. Salinity lower. Keep the temp constant. Turn lights off. Freshwater dip. Good U.V. sterilizer. All of those have helped me in the past. and so have seachems paraguard and so does garlic soaked food. Hope this helps.
