Are hydroids mobile like anemones are?? The first one slowly moves around on that rock throughout the day. The second one is attached to one spot.

not usually mobile but will spread if they are getting what they need to survive but not 100% sure it's a hydroid it also could be a Bryozoa. Try to get a real good pic of them when you can.

I went and picked up what I thought was my light yesterday, but as it turns out I was given the wrong one accidentally. They gave me the Nova Extreme T5 X2 when what I really should have gotten was the Nova Extreme T5 X4. I'm going back hopefully as soon as Wednesday to trade the one they gave me back, and also get moonlights. Anyways, here are some pics of the light I am getting. I am being told that I will be able to grow any kind of coral I want in my tank with this light....is that true??

#2 looks like a type of zoanthid. it looks bleached out though. i found one exactly the same on the rock my finger leather is attatched to. so we'll see how it goes.

my button polyps and also a zoa where in a similar shape when i first found them when i bought my live rock home. after having access to light for a week or two they stated to perk up a bit. theyre fine and healthy now...

if it dies you didnt pay for it, and it probably couldnt be helped as it may be too far gone to save. if it lives you got a coral frag for free. which is a dangerous thing. its just not possible to have a single coral alone in a tank :)

You think its a coral? Sweet. Unfortunately I'm not going to have lights on the tank until Wednesday, and even then the lights will only be on two or three hours a day to avoid overloading the system with an abrupt change. Why can't you keep just one coral in a tank??

Check out Ebay, search for CurrentUSA as the seller. They refurb and resell Nova Extreme on there from time to time, I got a 36" 4x39W w/ bulbs for $130 shipped ($99 + $30 shipping).

If someone outbids see if they sell more of them, usually they do. Be patient, I had to wait a bit before finding a time when there was no bidders. Someone outbidded me one time, I don't know why when there was others selling for $99 with no bids. I got mine for $99, that one ended up at $130...:screwy:

I didn't really pay anything for it, I got it in a trade. My friend runs a business where he buillds and maintains reef tanks for companies and businesses in this area. I gave him an old six foot fixture I had and he ordered it for me. He threw in some moon lights and a bunch of live rock too.
