Saltwater salinity question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
your fish will always have ich, just having it below 1.017 will prevent it from showing.. if the fish are healthy they should be able to fight off the ich. Tangs are really sensitive and stress will cause them to break out even if you think they dont have it. I had a blue hippo tang held for me at a store for over a month. they quarantined it and showed no signs of ich or anything. from being put in a bag at the store and driven to my place which is 20-25 mins away, i got home and it started to stress bad and showed signs of popeye and then ich the next day.. it will happen.
if you're fish only then 1.021-1.023 will work fine. if you go with corals then i'd keep it 1.024-1.026.
also in my opinion, your tank is stocked enough with a 125. once those fish start growing you'll need a bigger tank or be taking fish out.

I raised salinity up to 1.018 tonight, tomorrow I will raise it to 1.021. Thanks for all the advice. My lfs is getting a shipment of live rock which ill be looking forward to.
