Saltwater to freshwater

Yes is there any brackish fish that can be put in freshwater its whole life without any side effects?
 
For what it's worth a friend of a friend says he's got a pond in his back yard supplied by an 'argentine well' that houses monster tarpon , snook, redfish...........

From what I read fat snook have been noted to live in completely fresh water. The others can tolerate lower salinities but they are unbale to spawn in freshwater.
