Saltwater

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I loved my coral and my fish but the maintenance killed me. And honestly I did a 300 gallon wc about every two weeks. My trates were around 15ppm. I had a calcium reactor, biopellet reactor, huge skimmer, 80g ish refugium. I had to clean the glass on 4 display tanks pretty much daily if I didnt itd get covered in coraline algae pdq. Tested parameters cal,alk mag, everyother day. My reefkeeper would watch temp ph and orp and controlled the lights. I had to feed daily corals fish baby fish too much. I'm actually glad its gone it was a bit crazy. But I miss it too.

First off how big was the tank

And secondly I have regretted selling my 150 every day since.

Tanks. 125 reef 120 reef 300g Rubbermaid ×2 sharks rays angels puffer. 80g display refugium with an angler. 150 cube nps reef with 6 rhyzos mutiple colonies of dendros and sun corals a few chili and the like. 200g breeder rack for clowns and cardinals and a couple damsels. I feel I'm missing a few things.....

I’m getting to the point where I need to automate it... I’m going to be setting up 3 55 gallons and 2 75 gallons... I think... I can’t remember the exact number.

It takes me about 1-2 hours maybe 1.5 hours actually to do 80% water changes in my 75, 55, and 29 gallon. I can’t complain though because at least I’m not doing it with buckets :p

Yeah that was me at one point too. Having a huge salt system taught me alot though. And having at least some sort of tank all through my life.
