Salvini and Oscar together?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i had a 5 inch salvini nice bright yellow with a 8'' Oscar, 6'' demps and 6'' texas no prob untli the power went out and only the salvini my favorite fish died :'(

I have heard they grow slow?

So...a 1 and a half inch oscar should be fine in a tank with some BGJDs from 2-3 inches? and probably the Salvini also? for awhile?

Debating on just trying the Oscar in my 110 gallon tank.....
Could it work out? EBJD, Rainbow cichlid, Salvini(until other tank is ready), Green Severum, and 2 Gourami....
I'm hearing so many mixed things about these Oscars and their personalities...
REALLLY want some BGJD in the other tank.
I'd return this little guy, but he's really cool so far. He's begging for food and come to the front of the tank when he sees me already. I'm thinking about working something out in my 50 gallon for him temporarily. I might move my goldfish into my smaller tank since they're all still young also.

idk bout the Dempseys i only had a was a regular one and he was a savage killed about 10 fish including my 1st oscar (which was the same size so i got a bigger one and they were fine), wolfish, belly-crawled pike fire mouth green terror, and almsot killed my clown knife but i saved it so i gave him to my friend and it killed all his fish ahahaha. oscars are good fish they just eat alott

I would just keep an eye on them and the oscar will be double the size of the sal in 2 to 4 weeks anyways. The oscar will outgrow the sal pretty fast.

Nope, 55 gallon isn't the final home.

Rethinking the whole Oscar thing though. I really like the little guy, but I'd rather have a breeding pair of BGJD.

Would it be a good idea to try him out in my 110 gallon? I don't want my EBJD stressing from him though. I've been careful about his tank mates so far, the 110 gallon is really the EBJD's tank. (thats why the salvini is getting moved out)

my easiest solution so far is giving up the idea of the Oscar...
I didn't think I would find BGJD around here :(
