  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hmmm alrite, well they look really good and if i can keep it in a 29 for a lil bit then its proly a good choice for me, i may add a tankmate to keep the tank lively

These fish can be quite aggro as others have mentioned. Females do tend to be less so and IMO have slightly nicer colouration with more red showing.

My 7 inch male is one angry SOB but i love him all the same.

I think a sal would absolutely smash a firemouth . Fm's seem to be a lot of bark and no bite.

they sound fun to keep, nice lil aggressive mid sized cichlid lol.. jus wat im lookin for! it would be great to get a breeding pair, adds to the fun

If you want to get a breeding pair be ready to separate the male and female as they will kill each other sometimes. Make sure you have a separator or a spare tank ready just in case.

alrite, i have an extra tank, and a seperator so that can be taken care of... im either guna get a breeding pair or have a salvini and another cichlid with it, jus dont kno exactly wat else i want yet ha

I have a Salvini in with an Oscar, a JD, a common pleco and a school of silver dollars and I havent had any problems. Of course you would need a little bit bigger of a tank if you want to have the larger cichlids. Although I will be removing the salv soon for breeding purposes.:D

good info, im pretty set on getn a salv and a carpintis, i love the way both look, hopefully my salv will get those great yellowish colors, ive seen many without em tho, im jus hopin mine will have em
