This fish isnt mine. It belonged to my old friend mattimeo who was a member of a another fish forum. This picture does not do this fish justice. This was best looking salvini I have ever seen.

This is the thread I was looking for. I think I messaged a couple of you about starting this cause I couldn't find a thread to just post and show off salvini pics. There are some awesome sals on here! I have never seen so many that are so orange. Here are a couple pics of my male. He is a lil over 4".

EDIT: Found my best picture of him. I miss him a lot, he had some offspring shaping up even better than him! Lost all of them in a power outage and left the hobby for a while after that...

Funny, I wouldn't have seen this thread if I didn't pick up another pair today at the LFS... cheap, were $10 ea @ 4.5 inches. Ventral red is nothing to write home about, but they're a deep yellow with tons of blue on the scales and the fins have a nice bright red hue throughout. Hopefully I'll get something decent a few generations down the line...

Wow its a ghost. The hobbyist formerly known as Mattimeo aka scott. How have you been man? Its been forever. You up and fell off the face of the earth. It seems fitting that you would show up in a thread about salvini. I gave the hobby a break recently and am only starting ease back in. Things were out of control for a good while.

That male sal that you had was amazing. He had the best traits of the riverine variants and the lagoon variants. He reminded me of a cross between the "blue blaze" type and the lagoon type "super red" sals. I have not seen one of those in years.
