Salvini tips?

The luck you had with no aggression from the salvini is beyond my comprehension of words.
I’ve never had an aggressive one either. Tank size is everything w/ them and tankmates. They will be aggressive in a 4’ tank for sure. A 75g would not be enough space for her to have cichlid tankmates. I’ve mostly kept them w/ thorichthys. Most the time the meeki would be chasing the salvini around, but never any issues. That’s a 6’ 150g. Bet most who have had aggression issues were in smaller tanks.

The luck I had at the time with the entire tank is being comprehension of anyone’s words ?
Your blackbelt was young if I remember correctly, and it was not for an extended period of time. Cichlid communities are a balancing act, change as time goes on. Had your blackbelt been an adult I think your luck may have been different.
In a 75, eventually a salvini will need be a solo fish. Good advice given so far, could possible put convict-types in with the young fish, but if it isn't needed to make the fish less shy, then I wouldn't bother.

My blackbelt when it was with other fish was about 3” and I most definitely would of had different results if he was an adult.

Breeding pairs rival convict in aggression. I’ve only kept a single one in a community tank. Females usually are less aggressive than males, or that’s what I’ve always heard. But I had a really passive male. He was very laid back. He’s just do this all day long lol.
