Hi dolphinfan,I was just browsing and your thread caught my eye ,heres a few pics of mine I took earlier this week of their first spawning attempt .Unfortunately the female ate the eggs after 3 days,I dont think the male did his bit properly.
I'll put it this way ,6 odd months ago I bought 4 hoping to get a pair which I duly did, now I only have 2 ( the pair) On 2 seperate occassions last week and tonight they went PSYCHO and killed one of the other Salvinis. This took about 20 minutes on both occasions while I was out of the room or I would have moved the victims to another tank( I have 20).They share the 4ft tank with 3 Clown loaches several Plecos a Delhezi Bichir and a syno they have shown no overt aggresion to these fish even when guarding their first spawning attempt , the odd shove if somebody wandered to close but nothing major. If there were other Cichlids in that tank with them I think it would be total carnage!!
They female is 4"tl the male 6"tl.
