Salween

At an elevation of a thousand metres, flowing between think forest covered mountains, the Salween is barely accessible.

This is just before the confluence, where it turns north then west, then crashes down to the Andaman.

The pictures make it look calm, but the boat navigated myriad dangerous eddies.

I am afraid I cannot show you any more. Just getting there is difficult, trade on the river is run by an insurgent army, the river is turbulent, and the forest is mostly impenetrable.

There are many fish in the river, but you cannot just drop a net into it.
