Sorry for the late reply. Female is 6"-7" and male is 8"-9". Unfortunately things didn't work out this time around. The female harvested the eggs off the block and hid them somewhere, only leaving the bad eggs. THEN... the next day.... the male put a small punishment on the female, she had to be separated and I don't know what became of the fry. Better luck next time I guess.

Sorry to hear sir. I am sure they will be back at again soon!

For the past few days, Congo (8" black) has been shaking and shaking for a would-be female. The same would-be that I posted on here to get a sex, but wasnt sure. Hopefully Congo is right and she is female. Regardless of his advances, she isnt having any of it. Yet... Time will tell, she's barely 5.5".

Hey no biggie bro. My female put too much gravel in with the fry when they hatched and accidentally put too much gravel on them and smothered them. Before that she put a whoopin on prime right after they spawned and I had to divide them!! So now I have him with a smaller female and they're doing great and looks like they're gonna spawn soon.

I did... sorry I didn't reply, had one sick 3 year old at home and my 7 month old admitted in the hospital so my plate was pretty full. Everything is gone, pressed for space and so I donated the Pearsei's.

Hope the kids are ok now. Sorry to hear that. I'll be coming through again Sat. Got anything exciting, guess no wigglers to siphon out huh? I'm gonna contact Chris, see what he has left? Gung Hay Fat Choy!

It's been a while since I updated this thread. I've had the pair in the same tank but divided for a bit while I acclimated them to owning the entire tank by themselves. I also placed a paver on the female side of the divider to 1.) secure the divider from the male pushing the bottom thru 2.) in case they decide to spawn that their will be a suitable surface for the eggs to be laid on. Both proved to work because one day the female was showing a partial tube and the male was doing his flicking. Unfortunately I was leaving for a camping trip and didn't want to risk loosing the female if things got too physical. She laid eggs and the male fertilized thru the eggcrate. The fertility success rate wasn't high but they managed to fertilize about 1/3 of the eggs. I now have 60-80 free swimming fry that I've since removed from the main tank into a 10 gallon to grow out. They're about 3 weeks old and on live baby brine shrimp.
