I'm posting this because of all the comments left by folks about the sand in my tanks. It is Crayola play sand purchased from walmart for around $7 a bag. We have one bag in our 60 gal and two in our 100 gal. They carry red, blue, green, and purple around here. Wish they had black.:(

Anyhow, we have been using it for about a year, every since we started with our fish fetish. We didn't wash it first, yes I know we should've. We haven't had any ill effects from the sand. The fish seem to love it. They play in it a lot. Rubbing their bodies along it, moving it where they want it by spitting it around. And our female cichlid will sit on the bottom and shake her body, sending out a colorful sand cloud behind her. Now that's cool to watch. I'll try to catch her doing it on cam, but you know how fish are, could be awhile.:) My live plants have rooted great as well.

Okay, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. :headbang2

If its safe for children to eat, it's probably fine for fish.

Thank you. He is a joy to have. As for when he gets bigger, idk. I've read that they only get about 6 to 9 in. As far as aggression goes, be is soo not. He is a sweetheart. Never attacking anyone. And he also about the only fish that my three cichlids won't mess with. We have a survival of the fittest mentality when it comes to our fish. So as for now, I have no plans to move him. We will soon be making a cichlid tank though, I hate seeing my fishes tails nipped. :irked: Silly cichlids.

Cool tanks , not my taste at all , but you fish look very healthy and if you like it then :D .

You got Goldfish with African Cichlids , needlefish , BKF' , Silver Sharks , ECT' . But if it works for you . :)

I'm glad it worked out for you! I'm definitely too hesitant to try it out since it has the warning on it about it being unsafe for aquarium use. It looks really amazing in your tanks!

They do all seem to live pretty peacefully together, for now. lol They are all just babies, things my change later. At Least I have three big tanks to work with. My feeders can always go into the 10 gal, if things get real bad in the future.:naughty:

I understand that you don't want to harm your fish, but i think they just put the warning on there just to cover their own asses. lol Maybe some dumbass already tried to sew them. lol ikd. but if you ever get you a ten gal or something you should try it with a few fish you aren't afraid of loosing. I can pretty much guarantee that your fish will be just fine. I do hope you try it. It's harmless, i promise. :)

nice tanks, I'm not too fond of the colorful sand. I like the deco.

how much did they charge you for that collosium? Petsmart/Petco charges insane prices for those
