you are correct but it seems to be clearing up since i raised my powerheads.im looking to put sponges on my powerheads for a while at least till it clears up enouhmr.reef24;3818084; said:if you don't have any sponges or prefilters in your sump or canister it could be stirring up suspended detritus and sand making it cloudy. I assume the tank was filled with water when you added your new sand sometimes it can take a few days to calm down especially in a big tank and with lots of flow.
